A polar opposite of a post from yesterday, in terms of value, but I would say on par in terms of rarity. We've all seen a Corum coin watch before, but not this one. Based on a Japanese 50 Sen coin from the early 1900's, this watch is made out of 800 grade silver (just like the coin was minted back then). I consider myself fairly proficient with Google, but couldn’t find another example or any info. So, after reaching out to Corum, they eventually found this watch in their archives and let me know it was made in 1977 for the Japanese market only and in “very limited quantity”, even though they could disclose how many were produced. This 28mm, manual wind watch probably wasn't the best seller, but a very neat find almost 50 years later.
