Up for grabs is a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona
reference 6265 with silver “Big Red” dial
5.5 mil serial number circa 1978 production
This watch has been found and acquired locally to me from original owner who is a retired stock broker and bought the watch new “in late 70’s”. The owner has not kept the box or papers.
Excellent vintage condition case with no major dings or dents. Case has been polished in past. Serial and reference numbers are intact and visible.
Dial is original silver “Big Red”. All luminous plots are mostly intact with nice yellow patina. Please note a small scratch on bottom of lower subdial. Hands are newer, replaced during past service, still briefly glow in dark.
Bezel is original, mostly filled in with color on numbers, still shows original bevel on edges.
Bracelet is original Rolex 78350-19 with 571 end-links and fully linked with 13 links. Shows minor stretch from normal use.
Watch runs, winds smoothly, and chronograph runs and resets back to zero. Service history is not documented. The watch currently runs well with good time keeping and amplitude and does not require service.
