Up for grabs is an Omega Speedmaster Professional
145.022 reference transition Pre-Moon model with Cal. 861 movement
265589XX serial number circa 1968
Excellent condition case with no major dings, dents, or deep scratches. Nice crisp and defined lugs. Original skinny logo crown and pushers.
Dial is excellent Applied Logo tritium. No scratches, uneven aging, or bubbling. Hands appear to be original tritium, but evidently repainted in past.
Caseback is very good with good Seamonster on back. Stamped 145.022 – 68 inside.
Bezel is newer replacement in excellent condition.
Bracelet appears to be Omega 1161. The outer clasp is stamped with Omega logo, links are correct, end-links are 575, but the clasp is not stamped with usual Omega markings. This watch’s history originates in South America and in Rolex world, I have seen and owned pieces from that part of world and of this age with genuine Rolex bracelets without any markings. This was apparently done due to import/export laws with heads being shipped separate from bracelets and bracelets made in country that’s importing. This could be the case here or the clasp was simply repaired/replaced at some point with non-Omega one.
Watch is running with and strong with chrono running and resetting as should.
No box or papers.
