Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner

reference 1680

3.30 mil serial number circa 1972 production watch.

Exceptionally well preserved example with a very original case. If you visit my site frequently and look at my listings, you know I do not use the word unpolished lightly and this watch is for sure unpolished. The factory finished chamfers, the razor sharp edges of the pin holes, and original chamfers on crown guards even. There is no corrosion and no pitting. Serial and reference numbers are clearly visible and fully intact.

The bezel insert is in fantastic condition without scratches or damage. The “pearl” is original and tritium and matching to the patina of dial.

The dial is fantastic MK4 in flawless condition. No spots, scratches, drag marks, etc. Very vivid patina on plots and hands. No relume, no refinish. For those who do not know, I take all my pictures under natural light outside without flash or any other artificial lighting. Date disk is original, silver, with open 6’s and 9’s.

Caseback is original and correct, stamped 1680 and IV.72 inside.

Bracelet is original Rolex 9315 with “pateted” (misspelled) extension, 280 end-links and full 12 links. The bracelet also appears unpolished, in tight condition for a folded link bracelet, and lack any major dents or wear on the clasp coronet. There is no date code on clasp, which would be also period correct for this watch.

The watch comes complete with its original Rolex warranty papers. The papers are punched, stamped with Japanese AD’s name and dated in 1976 at time of purchase.
