1950’s Longines Super Compressor Diver ref. 7042 First Generation Dial

Up for grabs is a Longines Diver Super Compressor

Reference 7042 in steel, 42mm, automatic watch

Excellent vintage condition watch without major dings or dents. Original cross hatched crowns.

Dial is original and radium and damage free. Nice orange patina on all plots. This is the first generation MK1 dial for this watch with “swiss” only, gilt print, small dot at 6. The lacquer finish of the dial has aged to a matted finish over the years. There is no relume, no refinish, no man-made damage. The watch test with Geiger counter and shows strong readings.

Hands are original and radium.

Inner bezel is original and correct with 4 dots between 15 instead of 3 as observed on later bezels.

Caseback is original and damage free. Nice outer engraving.

The watch runs, winds and bezel turns nicely. No documented service history.
