1998 Rolex Explorer 1 ref. 14270 “Swiss-Only Dial, Papers”

Up for grabs is a Rolex Explorer 1

Reference 14270 with 36mm case

A1 serial number circa 1998 production. Papers are dated in 1999 at time of purchase.

This is a transitional model with “swiss” on bottom of dial during transition from tritium to luminova dial. Correct, original, and “rare”.

For all of my number guys, the serial number is pretty neat. A is followed by 1998, which is also the year the watch is produced.

Very good vintage condition case with even lugs and sharp edges. Clear numbers.

Dial and hands are original. Crystal has a “smudge” as seen in photos.

Bracelet is original Rolex 78790 with 12 links, moderate stretch, X date code.

Watch comes with its original Rolex warranty papers. No box or other accessories.
