Up for grabs is an Omega Speedmaster
105.002-62 reference pre-moon, pre-professional. This is a seldom seen reference with Alpha hands, SWISS MADE dial, only believed to have been made for about a year and half.
195835XX serial number falls is perfectly into correct production date for this reference. The Omega Extract or Archives confirms the serial number to a 105.002 reference as well as shows production date of April 30, 1963 with delivery to Italian market.
The watch was found in a well used state with crazed and cracked crystal, luminous missing/partial on the hands, and overall dirty. The watch has been sent to LA Watchworks for a spa treatment where it received a new Omega crystal, case polish, and hands relume to match the patina of the dial. The gaskets were also replaced. No service or movement work.
Original dial with original lume still mostly intact. Signs of aging and wear under loupe, but overall nice condition. The hands are original, Alpha.
Original pushers and skinny logo crown.
Original Dot Over 90 bezel with faded colors and signs of wear.
Caseback is in excellent vintage condition. Crisp Hippocampus on back. Caseback is stamped 105.002-62 inside.
Movement is caliber 321 in working condition, runs and winds. Chrono starts and runs. When you push to stop it, it resets the hand back to 12.
Watch comes on vintage leather strap with steel buckle.
No box or papers. No documented service history. The watch comes with Omega Extract of Archives.
