1970’s Audemars Piguet ref. 5402ST Royal Oak Jumbo Tropical “Solar Eclipse” Dial

Up for grabs is an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo

Reference 5402 ST

B series from 1970’s. Audemars Piguet has delivered 845 B series watches, with most of them being deliver between 1975-1977. Even though A series seem to be more desired, B series production was less than half in numbers.

Excellent vintage condition watch in excellent condition with factory finishes appears to be unpolished.

Dial is in excellent condition with unusual tropical aging where most of the color changed took place on the 9 o’clock side of the dial, while the 3 o’clock side remains blue. Hence I’m calling it a Solar Eclipse dial. No relume, no refinish, hands are original.

Bracelet is tight and crisp without any heavy signs of wear.

Caseback is crisp with factory finishes and clearly stamped numbers.

No box or papers.

PS, yes I fixed the position of screws on the bezel after taking the pictures.
