Up for grabs is an Omega Speedmaster Professional
Reference 311.30.42.30.01.004 know as “TinTin” in the collector community.
Introduced at Baselworld in 2013 as the result of a licensing deal gone awry with the family of Hergé – creator of the Tintin series of illustrated adventures – the Speedmaster, formally only known by its internal Reference number (311.30.42.30.01.004) features an exotic outer track finished in the red & white checkered color scheme of Professor Calculus’ rocketship in the classic comic Objectif Lune (Destination Moon in English language editions).
Initially met with somewhat tepid response by collectors and journalists, the model was only produced for about two years before being pulled from the collection. As a matter of fact, we can see that this particular example wasn’t even sold until 2018 due to lack of popularity of this model. Almost as with everything these days, everything that wasn’t popular “back then” is collectible today in the watch world.
The condition of the watch is excellent without any dings or dents or deep scratches. The serial number under the lug is fully legible.
The bezel and crystal are in excellent condition.
The bracelet is original, tight, and fully linked.
The caseback, with it distinct red filled words specific to this model, is in excellent condition.
The watch comes complete with Omega boxes, manual book, both cards, and hang tag.
