1950’s Rolex Chronometer ref. 4448 “Honeycomb Dial, 35mm, 18kt Gold”

Up for grabs is a Rolex Chronometer in 18kt yellow gold

reference 4448 with engine turned bezel, 35mm case, manual wind movement

Serial number is faint from use and wear, but appears to start with 9 and therefore should be from around 1953 production

Excellent vintage condition case with sharp lugs.

The caseback is engraved “Sultan Mohammed” who was the Sultan on Morocco during this time. It is assumed the watch was given as a gift on his behalf to the original owner.

Original acorn winding crown.

Dial is original, honeycomb with expected signs of age. Hands are original, non-lume. No refinish or reconditioning.

The buckle is signed Rolex.

No box or papers. No known service history. Watch winds and runs.
