Up for grabs is a Rolex TOG
Reference 6202
949,XXX serial number watch circa 1953, the first year of production
Excellent vintage condition case with sharp and thick lugs. Clear reference number, the serial number shows wear, but mostly visible.
Original Rolex Brevet crown
Correct and original first generation bezel WITHOUT the red triangle with dots for minute markers instead of hashes. A very rare and often times damaged/worn bezel is in exceptional condition on this example.
The dial is extremely rare OCC on top of TOG. I have only see a couple more examples like this while other OCC’s are printed below TOG. Furthermore this dial is extermely nice without any chips, scratches, or unusual wear. It is almost perfect orange radium lume with exception of partial flaking of lume at 8 oclock.
Caseback is original, stamped 6202 and dated ’53
The bracelet is a later Rolex Jubilee 6251 with 55 ends and ’68 date stamp.
An overall rare, and mostly well preserved example of a rare reference.
