Up for grabs is a Rolex GMT-Master in steel
reference 6542 “no-crown-guard”
427,XXX serial number circa 1958 production
Excellent vintage condition case with very thick lugs and original chamfers. Serial and reference numbers are intact. No corrosion or pitting.
Dial is a matte service tritium with chapter ring, white print and nice patina on pots and hands. Original small GMT hand. Date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.
The crystal is crazed from age, but the dial is damage free.
Bezel and insert are service replacement. The insert is fat font with nice faded colors and red back.
Caseback is original, stamped 6542 and III.1958
Bracelet is believed to be original to the watch, Rolex USA jubilee with “55” end-links which will be correct for GMT’s.
No box or papers.
