The first GMT reference 6542 with bakelite bezel
482,XXX serial number circa 1959 production
Excellent vintage condition case with thick lugs. Original chamfers are still evident as you can see in pictures. The reference and serial numbers show wear from bracelet, but still recognizable.
Dial is original, radium, glossy gilt in very good condition. The dial is still very glossy with nice patina on plots. There is some aging/marbling on lacquer of the dial under certain angle its visible. No chips, corrosion, no relume. Hands are original and radium with small GMT. Date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.
The bezel is in excellent vintage condition. This is original bakelite radium, not replacement and not aftermarket. No cracks and beautiful patina on numbers.
Caseback is original and stamped 6542 and III.59
Bracelet is a spring-loaded USA CI rivet in excellent condition stamped ’65.
No box or papers. No documented service history.
