1960 Rolex Explorer ref. 1016 “Gilt Chapter Ring Dial”

UP for grabs is a Rolex Explorer 1

Reference 1016 with 36mm case

517,XXX serial number circa 1960 production

Excellent vintage condition case with even and sharp lugs. Numbers show some sign of wear from bracelet, but still recognizable. No corrosion or pitting.

Dial is original, chapter ring, gilt print, swiss only. Nice patina. Dial has matted from age. Hands have been matched to the dial with relume.

Caseback is original, stamped 1016 and dated ’60

Bracelet is a Rolex 7836 with full 13 links, minimal stretch, 358 ends.
