1960 Rolex Explorer ref. 1016 MK3 Service Dial

Up for grabs is a Rolex Explorer 1

1016 reference

596,XXX serial number circa 1960 production

Very good condition case that has previously been polished. No major dings, dents or deep scratches. Nice, thick and even lugs. The serial and reference numbers show bracelet wear but still recognizable under a loupe.

Dial is excellent MK3 tritium service replacement with very vivid yellow patina with matching hands.

Caseback is excellent stamped 1016 and date ’60

Bracelet is Rolex Swiss Rivet 7206 with 80 ends. The clasp was most likely replaced at same as the dial and is dated ’72.

No box or papers. No documented service history. The watch winds and runs.
