1960’s Aquastar Deepstar Chronograph “Purple Dial, Top Condition”

Up for grabs is an Aquastar Deepstar

Stainless steel chronograph with Valjoux 23 manual wind movement

This example is one of the top condition ones I’ve seen or had.

The case is extremely sharp and appears unpolished with factory finishes. The crown is signed and pushers are original.

Bezel is original and crisp with its tritium “pearl” still fully intact.

The dial is flawless. No chips, no scratches, no lume loss. The subdial is very clean and damage-free.

The caseback is extremely sharp with clear engravings and markings.

The strap is also original signed “tropic and star” remains in excellent condition. The buckle is original Aquastar as well.

The watch was found with a strap accessory thermometer. It appears to work correctly. There is no Aquastar branding, so I don’t believe it was factory made, but it was probably sold to the owner of the watch as an addition to his new watch from a diver shop or catalog where he got he watch from. The thermometer simply slides on the strap.
