Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner in steel

5512 reference

693,XXX serial number circa 1961 production

Excellent vintage condition case appears to be unpolished. Very defined and clearly factory chamfers, sharp edge of lug holes, sharp and pointy crown guards are all present. Serial and reference numbers are very clear and fully intact.

Dial is original, 2-line, SWISS only chapter ring with “exclamation point”. Very strong and beautiful patina on plots and hands. All luminous is fully intact and correct puffy on dial. Hands are gilt and original. No relume, no refinish. The dial is matting and turning brown, but still remains somewhat glossy as you see see in picture at an angle with hands clearly reflecting the surface of the dial. Under close pictures, there is typical hour hand drag marks as very commonly seen for 5512’s from this era. This is hard to see and notice in person.

Original twin lock Rolex crown.

Bezel insert has also turned clearly brown. It is in excellent vintage condition.

Caseback is original, stamped 5512 and II.61 inside.

Movement is original, with period correct butterfly rotor. The movement has just been serviced and the watch runs well.

Watch comes on unworn vintage leather strap. No box or papers.
