Up for grabs is a Rolex Cosmograph

6239 reference

923,0XX serial number circa early 1963 production

This watch has been recently discovered and obtained from original owner, his name is inscribed on caseback, who has received this watch as a gift for his college graduation in 1964. The watch has remained in his possession until recently. Nothing has been changed or swapped or added or removed except for some Polywatch application on crystal. The watch is sold exactly as found.

Dial is original white, “Double Swiss Underline”, Cosmograph. The lower SWISS can be clearly seen below 6 marker. The dial shows age and patina and discoloration in parts. There is a mark (could possible be removed) between 4 and 5 o’clock. The 4 o’clock lume dot is chipped off. There are a few pin hole sized tool marks right above the base of hands. The rest of condition is clearly displayed in pictures.

The hands are original and correct. The blue’d steel large Seconds hand I believe is correct and has been seen in at least another example of this reference and serial number range. The small Seconds hand is correct and unique to MK1, skinny compared to the hour and minute totalizers. The main hands are missing luminous material, but original with long Hours hand also unique to MK1

Bezel is correct and excellent “hash” 275 early variation. No major wear or dings or dents.

Caseback is in excellent condition. It is correctly stamped 6238 as should be. Outside is engraved with previous owner’s name.

Movement is a correct 72B and is fully functioning. Chrono runs and stops and resets as it should.

Bracelet is a Rolex USA CI stretchable rivet dated 1-64.

No box or papers. No documented service history.
