Up for grabs is an Omega Speedmaster Pre-moon, Pre-Professional
105.003-64 reference
228246XX serial number circa 1964 production
The watch is presented mostly as found, with dry rotted gasket and some dirt on case between lugs and pushers. The crystal had to be replaced as it was badly scratched and hazy from scratches, so this was done prior to taking pictures. The case will be cleaned up and the gasket will be replaced with a new one, but I wanted to present it as “as found” as possible. The generic steel bracelet which the watch came one has been discarded because of condition and overall look of it.
Excellent vintage condition case with nice case and thick lugs. No major dings or dents.
Original skinny logo winding crown
Dial is original, applied logo, pre-professional, step. Most of the tritium is still intact on the plots. The dial shows fade and color change to brown, but I will not call it tropical or add any kind of premium in price for that, just an attractive fade. Hands are original and period correct with tritium intact. The hour totalizer hand has been repainted in past.
Crystal is original Omega hesalite logo in center.
Bezel is original DON showing aging and fits the overall look of the watch.
Caseback is original, double step with crisp Hippocampus on outside and correctly stamped 105.003-64 inside.
The watch winds smoothly, chrono runs, stops, and resets and shows 300 amplitude.
No box or papers.
The strap is unworn vintage leather one with Omega steel buckle.
