1964 Rolex Explorer 1 ref. 1016 “Gilt Glossy Dial”

Up for grabs is a Rolex Explorer 1

Reference 1016 with 36mm case

1.05 mil serial number circa 1964 production

Good vintage condition case with polished lugs. Clear numbers, no pitting or corrosion.

Dial is original, very attractive gilt and glossy with yellow patina and fully intact lume. Lacquer remains very glossy and only shows minor aging and marks if looking under a specific angle and under the loupe. Not possible to catch with camera on this one.

Hands are most likely original, tritium with a shade lighter in patina than the dial.

Caseback is original, stamped 1016 and dated 1964 inside.

Bracelet is original Rolex 7206 Swiss made Rivet with 11 links, 58 ends, and ’65 date stamp (correct).

There are no box or papers.
