Up for grabs is an Omega Speedmaster Pre-Moon, Pre-Professional
105.003-65 reference, straight lug, “Ed White”
254461XX serial number. This is probably one of the very last 105.003’s ever made with a very late serial number, but correct. The actual delivery from Omega date should be later than 1965 if you order the Extract of Archives from Omega, but again, this serial number range is correct for this reference.
The case is in very good vintage condition. No major dings or dents, no corrosion or pitting. Lugs are thick and even.
Dial is original, pre-pro and has aged to an attractive dark brown color. This is an actual “tropical” color change dial due to fading and not due to moisture damage. Most of the luminous is gone from the plots. The hands are a new tritium replacement.
Original hesalite Omega crystal has some surface scratches and skinny logo in center.
The DON bezel is in excellent vintage condition. Slight signs of wear and aging, but no major dents/dings or chips. The bezel also shows a slight color change in person and fade.
The winding crown is signed Omega, but is not the original skinny logo crown. The pushers appear to be original.
The caseback is in excellent vintage condition. Hippocampus is clearly engraved on back and concentric finish can still be observed. Inside is correctly stamped 105.003-65
Bracelet is an Omega 7912 with correct and original “6” end-links. Spring loaded links are all in great shape and none of them are stretched out. Bracelet is stamped 1/65
No box or papers. No documented service history. No box or papers. The watch winds smoothly and runs, the chrono runs, stops and resets back to zero.
