1965 Rolex Submariner ref. 5513 “Gilt and Glossy” w/ Yellow Patina

5513 reference

1.2 mil serial number circa 1965 production

Excellent vintage condition case without major dings or dents. Thick and even lugs with original chamfers evident. Serial and reference numbers are fully legible.

Dial is original, gilt with lacquer still retaining its mirror glossy finish. Very nice puffy plots are original with vibrant yellow patina. There is some light aging/spotting on lacquer of the dial that’s visible under certain angles and basically only under a loupe or macro lense.

The bezel insert is original with Long 5

Caseback is original, stamped III.65 and 5513 inside.

The watch comes on a Rolex USA C&I rivet bracelet with stretchable links. The clasp is dated ’72.

No box or papers. No service history is known, the watch winds well and runs at +4 seconds with ~250 amplitude.
