1967 Rolex Explorer 1 ref. 1016 MK1 “Frog Foot” Dial

Up for grabs is a Rolex Explorer 1

Reference 1016 with 36mm case

1.7 mil serial number circa 1967 production

Very good vintage condition case with even lugs and legible numbers.

The dial is original, matte MK1 so-called “Frog Foot” because of the shape of the coronet. There is a scratch around 2 o’clock marker. Hands are original.

Caseback is original, stamped 1016 and dated ’67

The watch comes on a Rolex 7206 rivet bracelet with 11 links, 382 stamped end-links. The clasp blades have been replaced in past with aftermarket ones.

No box or papers. No service history is known.
