1967 Rolex GMT-Master ref. 1675 “MK1 Long E Dial, Box & Papers”

1.81 mil serial number circa late 1967 production

Excellent vintage condition case with even lugs and crown guards. The watch has been regularly worn throughout its life, but does not appear to have been overpolished or abused by watchmakers. Clear numbers between the lugs.

Original MK1 dial with “Long E” is in excellent condition and all original. No relume, no refinish, no chipping of lume, no scratches. The dial has a very dark brown tone to it under certain light which is nearly impossible to catch in a picture but shows up in person. However, I will not call this watch “tropical” right now.

“Hook 7” date disk is correct.

Bezel insert is fat font with red back.

The hands do not glow in the dark, but react a bit more under UV, so they are tritium but my guess is that they have been replaced long ago during a routine service by Rolex.

The bracelet is a correct Rolex Jubilee 6215 with “55” end-links and 1967 date stamp on clasp. I believe it is original to the watch.

Caseback is original, stamped 1675 and dated late ’67 inside.

Watch comes with Rolex box, the manual, wallet, double punched papers. The Guarantee’s AD sticker matches the sticker on GMT Manual and the Manual is also printed in 1967. The Guarantee is dated in 1969 at time of purchase which is correct for these watches during that time. The COSC certificate is stamped with case serial number as well as matching movement number. Nothing has been added, removed, or altered in this “set” and it is being offered to you as found in raw condition.

No service history is known, but according to marking inside caseback, an overhaul was performed in 2014.

This is a very nice 1675 set in as found condition without anything swapped, added, or removed by me before going up for sale and since found “fresh to market” recently.
