Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner

ref. 5513

1.9 mil serial number circa late 1967 production

Excellent vintage condition case with thick and even lugs and crown guards. Previously polished, but retains evidence of original chamfers still. Clear numbers between the lugs. No corrosion or pitting.

Dial is original, matte “Meters First” with very attractive cream patina on plots and hands. No relume. No refinish.

Bezel insert is very fat font with later replaced pearl.

Caseback is original, stamped 5513 and dated IV.67

Bracelet links and end-links are from USA Rolex rivet C&I. The clasp is Swiss made, dated in 1969 and engraved with original owner’s last name on clasp. This is how the watch was found and therefore offered. The watch was purchased directly from Mr. Boich. My only assumption is that original links got stretched out and an AD replaced them with C&I bracelet but wanted to keep the original clasp since it was personalized.

Watch comes complete with Rolex boxes in mint condition. Outer box has “5513” sticker. Also, the watch is accompanied by its original hang tag with printed serial number and anchor; both of these items are usually missing. Original Submariner booklet, original Submariner card and warranty papers printed in 1969, matching clasp code date. The guarantee was never filled in.

Watch has been serviced prior to being sold to me. This is how the watch was discovered; Mr. Boich brought it in for repair and expressed interest in selling through my watchmaker.
