Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner No-Date
5513 reference
2.2 mil serial number circa 1968 production.
First thing is first, the dial is from a later era and has been replaced in the past. I am not sure if this dial was used as a service dial at some point or it was intentionally swapped by a previous owner, or even accidently swapped by a watchmaker who was servicing multiple 5513’s at same time and reassembled with “wrong” dial. This watch should have a “Meters First” matte dial, the current dial is a Maxi MK5 from very early 80’s.
Excellent vintage condition case with thick and even lugs and crown guards. Fully legible numbers.
Once again, the dial is a Maxi MK5 with vibrant yellow patina on plots and hands. It is not period correct for this case, but it is an original Rolex dial and hands.
Bezel insert is a nice fat font.
Caseback is original, stamped 5513 and IV.68
Bracelet is a Rolex Swiss rivet 7206 with 10 links, 82 stamped ends, moderate stretch from use and ’69 date code.
No box or papers. No documented service history.
