Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner in steel
1680 reference
2.29 mil serial number circa 1969 production
Excellent vintage condition case with thick and even lugs. It has been polished before, but original chamfers are still evident. Original twin lock corwn. No corrosion or pitting. Serial and reference numbers are fully intact and clearly visible.
Dial is fantastic MK2 Meters First in damage free condition and with nice cream patina on plots and tritium hands. No chips, scratches, drag marks or else and all lume intact, which is seldom seen on these early dials. There is a very slight brown tone to the dial which is better noticeable in person, but I do not consider it “tropical” at this point. Original date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.
Nice fat font insert with tritium pearl.
Caseback is original, stamped 1680 and III.69 inside.
Bracelet is a Rolex 9315 folded link with 380 ends, 12 links, PATETED misspelled diver’s extension.
No box or papers. No documented service history.
