1970 Rolex DateJust ref. 1601 in 18kt Yellow Gold, Carbon Gray Dial

Up for grabs is a Rolex DateJust in 18kt yellow gold

Reference 1601 with 36mm case, acrylic crystal

2.6 mil serial number circa 1970 production

Excellent vintage condition case with thick lugs and legible numbers.

The dial is a very attractive and seldom seen matte gray dial which has a bit of a brown hue to it. I’ve had another one of these dial in a Day-Date version and from same era. https://lunaroyster.com/product/1971…polished-case/

This dial is in excellent condition with most of the plots fully intact and only the 3 and 6 being partial. Original date disk.

The bracelet is also original to this watch and is a Rolex Jubilee with correct 53 end-links, correct date stamp ’71 on clasp. The bracelet is fully linked and does show lots of stretch from use. This bracelet is uncommon as most of these came on USA Jubilee or President bracelet.

The caseback is original and stamped 1601 inside.
