Up for grabs is a Rolex Daytona in steel
Reference 6262 with Cal. 727 movement only produced for about 2 years.
2.5 mil serial number circa 1970 production
This watch remains as found since May of 2021 when I flew out to North Carolina to pick it up from the daughter of the original owner, Mr. J King. He worked as a pilot for Saudia airlines as well as a private jet pilot. He bought the 6262 himself at a Rolex agent in South Carolina and wore it throughout the years. Mr. King passed away in 2010 and the watch remained in a deposit box until recently when the family finally decided to sell the watch. I sold this watch in 2021 to a collector and now its back up for sale. The watch has not been worn and remains in “as found condition” you see in the pictures.
The case is arguably unpolished with sharp and thick lugs. Fully legible numbers. Original pushers and crown.
The dial is an extremely well preserved white Newman with all of its plots full intact and original matching tritium hands. The white minute tract is also correct for 6262 references. The original crystal has scratches, but the dial is clean.
The original bezel remains in sharp condition.
This watch comes on 78350 bracelet with 571 end-links.
The caseback is original, appears unpolished from outside and stamped 6239 inside.
An overall spectacular example of a 6262 Newman. No box or papers.
