Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner Date in steel
2.4 mil serial number, very early 1970 production and very early and first Feet First MK4 dial.
This watch overall is in very original condition, shows plenty of sign of wear and age, but came in from original owner, nothing changed or swapped or added or removed. Overall, everything looks like it aged together and original.
Excellent vintage condition case with thick lugs and crown guards. You can still observe original chamfers on lugs. Serial and reference numbers are fully intact and visible. Original twin lock crown.
Dial is original MK4 Feet First with heavy and attractive patina on plots. Some aging is observed, but no chips, scratches, drag marks. Hands are original, tritium, and matching. Date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.
Very attractive and aged fat font bezel insert is matching the overall look of the watch.
The caseback is original, stamped 1680 and I.70 inside. The gasket appears to be original or been there for a many years, it will be replaced and caseback cleaned up before shipment.
Watch will come on unworn vintage leather gray strap with steel buckle.
No box or papers, no documented service history. Watch runs, winds and functions.
