Up for grabs is a vintage Heuer Calculator
Reference 110.633 in steel
The Heuer Calculator was designed for those who wanted a slide rule on their wrist for conducting mathematical calculations. The outer ring rotates and the inner ring remains fixed. The slide rule is designed to measure distance and also convert weight and volume from the imperial to the metric system and vice versa. The Calculator has a following among those seeking cool tools of industrial design from the past.
This is a large, 45mm watch from the 1970’s. According to the original papers, this one was purchased new in 1982.
The current example is fresh to market and is presented as found. The case is seemingly unpolished with sharp edges and factory finishes. The crown is signed, the pushers are correct and original.
The bezel remains in excellent condition with its grainy texture and without any major dings or dents.
The dial is flawless, blue, with nice patina on plots and original hands. The orange accents remain vibrant. The original crystal has minor scuffs and scratches (and is the haziness you see in the pictures, there is nothing on the dial itself).
The caseback remains very sharp on the outside with a couple tool marks, nothing dramatic.
The caseback gasket shows typical Heuer “gasket melt” from this period.
The Caliber 12 automatic movement is in excellent physical condition as seen in pictures. The watch winds, runs, chrono runs and resets, and it shows about +30 seconds per day with ~260 amplitude on timegrapher.
The bracelet is a generic steel bracelet that fits about an 8″ wrist. It has no Heuer signatures or maker’s marks. Just stamped “stainless steel” on clasp blade.
This watch was found with its original box and papers, as well as manual booklet to help you with those calculations. No service history is known.
