Up for grabs is a Rolex Explorer II
Reference 1655
2.9 mil serial number circa 1971 production
Good vintage condition watch that has been well worn throughout the years. Lugs are thick but polished. Numbers are clear between the lugs. No major dings or dents.
Dial is original, correct MK1 with cream patina. The 9 and 11 plots (if you use bezel to read the 24-hr scale) are partially missing lume. No relume or refinish. Date disk with open 6’s and 9’s. The hands were probably replaced during past service, but long time ago as they show fade in color and age. This serial number range should have straight Seconds hand.
Bezel is correct rare MK1 with “short” numbers.
Caseback is original, stamped 1655 inside and dated ’71
Watch comes with RSC papers from Venezuela and matching numbers from mid 2000’s. No other accessories or service records known. The strap is unworn.
