1972 Rolex DateJust ref. 1603 “Blue Wide Boy Sigma Dial”

Up for grabs is a Rolex DateJust in steel

1603 reference 36mm

3.0 mil serial number circa early 1972 production

Excellent vintage condition case with thick and sharp lugs. Serial and reference numbers are fully intact and clearly visible.

Dial is original, Blue Sigma with “Wide Boy” plots and hands. Nice patina. There is a small mark on paint near 1 o’clock marker. Original date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.

Caseback is stamped 1603 inside and dated ’72

Bracelet is a Rolex 6251 folded Jubilee link with 55 ends. Fits about 7.5″ wrist. There is no date code on clasp, which is period correct for this watch.

No box or papers. No documented service history. Watch winds smoothly and runs at +8 seconds with ~250 amplitude.
