Up for grab is a Rolex GMT-Master
Reference 1675
3.26 serial number circa 1972 production.
The Mark 2.5 is also a later addition to the catalogue of matte dials and, while between the Mark 2 and 3 in serial range, it doesn’t share many font characteristics with either as each were produced by a different parts supplier for Rolex. This dial is only seen within serial number 2.9-3.9 million.
Excellent vintage condition case with thick and chamfered lugs, though I believe polished before. Legible numbers.
Dial is original and has attractive patina. There is a small drag mark around center post. Original date disk with open 6’s and 9’s. Hands appear to have been relumed to match the dial at some point, though not by me.
Very attractive and clean Pepsi insert with vivid color. Red back.
Caseback is original, stamped 1675 and dated ’72 inside.
Bracelet is a Rolex 7836/380 with 12 links, no-date on clasp (which is period correct), nice overall condition.
No box or papers. The watch has been pressure tested, new crystal installed, and gaskets replaced prior to going up for sale.
