Up for grabs is a Tudor Chronograph Monte-Carlo
Reference 7159/0 with steel bezel
775,XXX serial number circa 1972 production
Excellent and original condition case with clearly unpolished lugs and crown guards. Clear numbers in between. Very defined edges and chamfers.
Original dial has amazing orange patina on plots. No relume, no refinish, no lume loss (chipping). Hands are original, lume has turned dark color.
Original crystal shows some signs of a long life in form of scratches and chips.
Original bezel shows its factory “Step” still and factory brushed finish.
The top pusher has been replaced at some point during service.
Caseback is original with crisp engravings.
Bracelet is a Rolex 7836 with 380 ends, 12 links. No date code, which is 1973-1974 production and is correct for this watch and believed original.
Overall, this is an excellent example of Monte Carlo in as-found condition and fresh to market. A service is suggested if planned to use daily, but the watch winds and runs.
