Up for grabs is a Rolex GMT-Master in steel

1675 reference

3.3 mil serial number circa 1973 production.

This is an interesting set. The case serial number is traditionally considered as 1973 production, meanwhile the warranty papers, which have a printed serial number from a Canadian Jeweler are dated in 1984. Furthermore, the bracelet carries a G date code from early 80’s and GMT manual also is dated in early 80’s. Based on the source where this watch came from, I believe the watch either sat at AD for some reason for many years before being sold new or somehow was still available from Rolex “old stock” and ordered in on this bracelet, with this manual and papers. Another theory is that this was some type of “re-issue” of papers by the AD under special request/circumstances.

Nevertheless, the watch itself is in extremely attractive condition and worth owning even by itself.

Excellent vintage condition case with chamfered lugs and thick crown guards. Serial and reference numbers are fully intact and clearly visible.

Dial is superb MK2 with vivid cream patina on plots and hands. No relume, no refinish. Original date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.

Bezel is original in excellent condition.

Caseback is stamped 1675 inside.

Bracelet is Rolex 78360 with all 13 links, 580 ends, tight condition, G date code.

Watch comes with GMT manual, translation booklet and Canadian AD papers. Serial number is both printed as well as hand written on outside. No box or other accessories.
