Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner Date in steel
1680 reference
3.81 mil serial number circa 1973 production
This watch has been found from an estate along with a Tiffany table clock from their late owner. He wore this watch often and without hesitation. The clasp and bezel were covered in grime, gunk, and dirt (I’ve attached some pictures below). The crystal was scratched up but the most important part, the dial, remained in flawless preserved condition. The watch has been cleaned up, but kept exactly as found. Nothing has been swapped out, added, or removed.
Excellent vintage condition case still retains thick and even lugs and crown guards. Underneath the grime between the lugs were well preserved serial and reference numbers. Fully intact and clearly visible.
Dial is original, MK6 Red with Tiffany & Co signage. No chips, scratches, drag marks, etc. All lume is fully intact and has aged to a cream color with very well preserved tritium hands that match in color. Original date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.
Original insert has slight fading from age and wear, but no major damage.
Caseback is original, stamped 1680 inside. There are no service marks at all inside, I believe it has never been opened prior to me doing so.
Bracelet is a Rolex 93150 with 11 links, diver’s extension with “patented” stamp on it, 580 ends, VC date code on clasp.
There are no box or papers or other provenance.
