Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner Date

ref. 1680

3.8 mil serial number circa 1973 production.

The watch’s warranty papers have a date code, which was put on papers in US during this time and indicated the date when the watch was shipped from Rolex USA to the AD. In this case, its AAX, which translates to July, 1975.

Excellent vintage condition case with thick lugs and crown guards. You can see the factory chamfers on lugs and steps on crown guards. Serial and reference numbers are clearly intact.

Dial is fantastic MK6 variant of Red dials with very vivid cream patina on plots and hands. Original date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.

This watch was found with an awesome faded gray “ghost” insert with tritium pearl and matching patina.

Caseback is original and correctly stamped 1680 inside.

The bracelet is a Rolex 93150 with 12 links, diver’s extension, 585 ends, and M date code.

Watch comes very complete with original Rolex boxes, manual with AD stamp on back, hang tags with matching serial number, original 660ft anchor, original Rolex warranty papers with punched serial number. The original owner also saved the factory crystal from when it was swapped to a new one. Presumably, this was done at same time when the bracelet was updated in 1988 as well.
