Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner Date in steel
1680 reference
5.0 mil serial number circa 1977 production
Excellent vintage condition case with thick and even lugs and crown guards. Lugs still retain signs of original chamfers. Serial and reference numbers are fully intact and clearly visible.
Dial is original white MK2 with open 6’s. Most of luminous has been removed on the plots, but no refinish and no damage on dial. Hands are original and tritium with very light patina. Date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.
The metal bezel ring is aftermarket. Bezel insert is genuine serif font.
Caseback is original, stamped 1680 inside.
Bracelet is a Rolex 93150 with 11 links, PATENTED diver’s extension, 580 ends and period correct D date code. Moderate stretch from use as seen in pictures.
No box or papers. No documented service history. Watch winds smoothly and runs at COSC specs currently.
