1977 Rolex Submariner Date ref. 1680 with “Blue Nipple Dial, Blue Bezel”

Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner in steel

5.1 mil serial number circa 1977 production

At some point, this watch has been modified by swapping a blue nipple dial and a blue insert from a 1680/8 onto this. This could’ve been done at time purchase by special request from AD, or could be done by the owner through a watchmaker, I don’t think we’ll even know. The dial is genuine Rolex parts and so is the insert.

Excellent vintage condition case with thick and even lugs and crown guards. Clear numbers between the lugs.

Dial is 1680/8 blue with nipple markers. Shows typical aging of the paint and discoloration.

Very attractive fat font bezel insert.

Bracelet is original Rolex 93150 with A date code.

No box or papers. Sold as found.
