Up for grabs is a Heuer Autavia Automatic
11630 reference, Cal. 12 movement
376,XXX serial number circa 1980’s production and is also the correct serial number range for other known examples of AAF issued watches.
This is one of the examples made for Argentinian Air Force with correct caseback stampings, serial number range, and glossy black dial with gray subdials.
Case is in excellent vintage condition. It appears to have never been refinished, but shows signs of being worn/used, of course. Pushers are original, crown is original and signed. Serial and reference numbers are fully intact and clearly visible between the lugs. No corrosion or pitting.
Dial is original, black glossy with tritium markers and hands. No relume, no refinish, nice patina and fading throughout.
Bezel is original, MH with tritium pearl and matching patina to the rest of the lume. Belze insert has aged to a “ghost” gray color and looks great in contrast to dial and gray subdials.
Caseback is original, it is stamped AAF logo as well as issue number below it. These engravings are very clear and crisp.
This watch also comes on Heuer signed bracelet from time period. Appears to be fully linked and fits a large wrist, about 8″.
There are no box or papers. No documented service history. The gasket “melt” between caseback and case indicates that no one has touched this watch in a long time inside, so a service may be needed for daily use or if you want it to runt to spec. Chronograph runs, stops and resets.
