Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner Date in steel
16800 reference
7.5 mil serial number circa 1982 production
Excellent vintage condition case with original chamfers clearly visible and thick crown guards. No corrosion or pitting. The serial and reference numbers are fully intact and clearly visible.
The dial is a beautiful glossy with vivid yellow patina on all plots. Hands are tritium and slightly lighter than the dial. This vintage 16800 should have a matte dial and we don’t see a switch until around 8.0 mil serial number. This could or couldn’t be a very early glossy dial 16800 or the dial has been swapped in past. Correct white date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.
Nice period correct bezel insert with heavily patina’d pearl.
Bracelet is a Rolex 93510 Oyster with 593 ends, 11 links, diver’s extension, light stretch from use, and period correct H date code (1983).
No box or papers. No documented service history. The watch winds smoothly, runs at COSC specs currently.
