Up for grabs is a Rolex Sea-Dweller
Reference 16660
8.32 mil serial number circa 1984 production. The warranty papers from US Duty Free Shop are dated in 1987 at time of purchase new.
Most of the Sea-Dwellers I usually find from vintage and neo-vintage eras are heavily polished, have replaced parts, and usually are watch-only finds. Since these watches were almost always purchased with purpose of being used at tool watches, rather than just a wrist accessories. Most people who just wanted a nice sports Rolex, just went for the Submariner version as it was slimmer and cheaper than the Sea-Dwellers. This watch shows signs of wear but luckily remains unpolished with factory chamfers and crown guard “steps” in sharp condition. No corrosion or pitting. Leglible numbers.
The dial is simply stunning. The patina is very intense with perfectly matching hands. The dial surface also shows no scratches, bubbling, spotting, or else. Original white date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.
The crystal and bezel insert remain original with tritium pip.
The caseback remains unpolished and has all of its crisp engravings.
The bracelet is original Rolex 93160 with correct SEL 592 ends, light stretch from use, 12 links, and correct J date code.
The watch comes with Rolex boxes, original and matching hang tags, and the warranty papers. No service history.
