Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner Date in steel
16800 reference
8.5 mil serial number circa 1984 production
Superb vintage condition with very sharp case, clearly unpolished with original chamfers and finishes. Serial and reference numbers are fully intact, clearly visible. Original caseback hologram is still intact.
Dial is original with very vibrant heavy cream patina on plots and hands. No relume, re refinish. Original date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.
Original bezel insert with tritium pearl.
Bracelet is original Rolex 93150 with 593 ends, very tight and crisp. Engraved ETK on outer clasp with original owner’s initials. J date code is period correct and original to the watch.
Very complete set with Rolex boxes, manuals, hang tags, anchor, etc. The box has a “16800” sticker.
The papers are punched with 902 country code, which is a US base in Germany. AAFSE is also stamped on papers as dealer. Papers are dated in December of 1984 and watch is accompanied by Rolex calendar for 1985.
Hang tag is original, with correct serial number printed.
Manuals are all original and printed in same period as the watch is made and sold.
Overall, a superb collector’s set, in very original condition, very complete with all correct accessories present.
