1984 Rolex Submariner Date ref. 16800 “Yellow Patina, Box & Papers, Matte Dial”

Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner Date

Reference 16800 with matte dial

8.1 mil serial number circa 1984 production. Warranty papers are dated in November of 1986 at time of purchase as new.

Excellent vintage condition case with thick and even lugs and crown guards. Fully legible numbers.

Dial is original, matte with yellow patina. The hands were replaced during past Rolex service and still glow. Date disk is original with open 6’s and 9’s.

Original bezel insert with tritium pearl.

Bracelet is a Rolex 93150 with 12 links, CX date code, 593 ends, tight condition.

Watch comes complete with Rolex boxes with “16800 sticker”, manual, warranty papers, matching hang tag with serial number, and 16800 paper’s sleeve.

No service history is known, though the replaced hands and newer bracelet indicate Rolex maintenance. The watch winds smoothly, runs very well at +4 seconds with ~290 amplitude.
