Up for grabs is an Audemars Piguet Ultra Slim automatic tourbillon
Reference 25643 BA in yellow gold
Lucky number 88
Produced for just 6 years from 1986-9, this AP was the first automatic wristwatch tourbillon on the planet and, until very recently, the thinnest automatic tourbillon wristwatch at just 5,3mm thick. Powered by an intriguing rocking hammer at 6 o’clock position and dial aesthetics taken from a famous Egyptian carving ft. Pharaoh Tutankhamun, which is shown on the cover of the original AP certificate booklet and the inner box.
Very well preserved condition without dings or dents.
The AP is signed on the crystal, instead of the dial, to make room for sun-ray decorations on the dial itself. The half moon window at 6 o’clock displays the blue rocking hammer and the top left corner shows of the tourbillon, in place of the Sun itself.
The caseback is very well preserved with sharp hallmarks and engravings.
The watch comes on its original AP strap with double folding AP clasp.
This example comes with original special AP boxes and certificate signed and numbered, matching the watch.
