1987 Rolex Submariner Date ref. 168000 “Triple Zero, Complete Set”

Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner Date

Reference 168000 transitional model only made for about year. The only difference between 16800 and 168000 was the steel used on this watch, which was now the 914L stainless steel Rolex will use on 16610 model.

R2 serial number circa 1987 production

Excellent vintage condition case with thick lugs and crown guards. Clear numbers.

Dial is original with vivid patina on plots. Hands are matched by LA Watchworks.

Bezel insert with luminova pearl.

Bracelet is original Rolex 93150 with 593 ends, 11 links, L date code, moderate stretch from use.

The watch comes very complete with Rolex boxes, manuals, hang tags, original papers, etc.
