1987 Rolex Submariner ref. 168000 “Triple Zero” Transitional Box & Papers

Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner Date

reference 168000 “Triple Zero”

R2 serial number circa 1987 production. 

This is a transitional reference between 16800 and 16610 and only made for about 9-12 months. The Triple Zero was made out of 904L steel at this time, like the 16610, but still had the 16800 movement, thus the difference. 

Very good vintage condition case with sharp lugs and clear numbers. 

Dial is original, tritium with light patina on plots and hands. The dial’s lacquer has “frosted” effect from aging. 

Bezel insert shows a nice fade from age. 

Bracelet is a Rolex 93150 with 593 ends and diver’s extension. 

Watch comes complete with Rolex boxes, manual, warranty paper, both matching hang tags, and box sticker. 

This watch is also accompanied by Rolex Service Center warranty card from service in 2016.
