Up for grabs is an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Display Back
3592B reference, the second generation of factory display back Moonwatch with gilt Cal. 863 movement and numbered case.
482401XX serial number circa 1988 production.
There were only about 1000 of these made between 1988 and 1990 with caseback having individual number engraved at random. This one is A 0862.
It is not known the reason why “A” is there, nor if these watches were made for a specific market or simply originally were only produced as numbered and eventually went into mainstream production without the numbers on caseback.
Sharp and originally finished case. Minor sign of wear.
Dial is original, damage free with yellow patina and tritium hands and long R
Original bezel in excellent vintage condition.
Caseback is original, display back, with all correct engravings.
Bracelet is correct for this early production model, reference 1450 with 809 ends. This bracelet is rare in itself. Fits about a 7.5″ wrist.
No box or papers. No documented service history. The watch winds smoothly, runs at -1 seconds per day at ~200 amplitude.
