Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner Date
16610 reference
R8 serial number circa 1988 production. This is a very early production serial number for 16610 with previous generation reference 168000 seen in R8 serial number as well as latest. The main difference between the two is when Rolex started using a new grade of stainless steel, 904L, on their watches.
Excellent vintage condition case with thick and beveled lugs. Numbers are clear between the lugs. Caseback sticker still partially intact.
Dial is original with heavy cream patina on plots. Hands are tritium and are a shade lighter in patina. Original date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.
Original bezel insert with tritium pearl.
The bracelet is original and tight 93150 with 501B ends and correct date code.
Watch comes complete with Rolex boxes, manuals, warranty papers from US AD. The delivery code on papers from Rolex USA to AD is January of 1989.
